Privacy policy
Effective date: May 1, 2026. KPDF Scanner is a document scanning and PDF utility app. This policy explains how the app accesses, uses, stores and shares information.
KPDF Scanner may access or create camera images used to scan documents, imported images and PDF files selected by you, scanned document images, generated PDF files, document names, page order, folders, app settings, OCR text extracted from scanned pages, hand-drawn signatures saved by you, annotations, text boxes, signature placements and passwords entered to protect PDFs.
This information is used only to provide app features, including scanning documents, cropping and enhancing pages, creating PDFs, reordering, rotating, splitting, merging, compressing, exporting PDFs, running on-device OCR, adding annotations and signatures, and password-protecting PDFs.
KPDF Scanner does not require an account and does not intentionally collect, upload, sell or share your scanned documents, PDFs, signatures, OCR text or passwords with the developer.
Your files stay on your device unless you choose to export, save or share them using Android sharing or file saving features. When you share a file with another app or save it to a location outside KPDF Scanner, that app or storage provider may handle the file according to its own privacy policy.
The app requests camera permission so you can scan documents. Camera access is used only while scanning.
OCR is used to extract text from scanned pages. OCR processing is intended to happen on device using Google ML Kit text recognition libraries. Extracted text is stored locally with the related document so you can search or export it.
If you enter a password to protect a PDF, the password is used to create the encrypted PDF. The app does not use the password for accounts and does not intentionally send it to the developer.
Documents, scans, signatures, annotations, OCR text and settings are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you delete them in the app, clear app data, uninstall the app or delete exported copies from their saved location.
Android system backup is disabled for KPDF Scanner, so app-private scans, signatures, OCR text and settings are not included in Android system backups by this app.
KPDF Scanner relies on Android app storage protections and permission controls. Files shared through Android sharing are provided only after you choose to share or export them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so you should only share sensitive documents with apps and services you trust.
KPDF Scanner is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app is local-first and does not require an account, the developer does not knowingly collect children's personal information.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Updates will be posted in the app and at the privacy policy URL used in the Google Play listing.
